Assana spent the morning grooming Cloud Magic and thinking about what to do next. She knew she needed to breed her mare, but if she did then she wouldn't be able to compete and she would quickly run out of money. Buying a new horse and putting Magic to a stud would be expensive. She still had some money left over from her previous competition wins, but she worried about how much would be left over to survive on.
She rode Magic to the Equestrian center and decided last minute to compete in one more show jumping competition. They placed first, and with the prize money she hoped to pay for the stud fees of a stallion.
She looked around the stables and checked all the stallions. She needed one that had cheap fees, but it still had to have good form and temperament.

She looked at all of them until she came to a mix breed. He had a dark brown coat and soft eyes. He was a little bit aggressive when she approached his stall, but when he saw that she had an eager to please mare behind her his noisiness got the better of him and he called out.
Assana was satisfied with this stallion, but before they let him out a dark stallion with a silver mane came barreling down the aisle towards them with his handler yelling and chasing after him.
Assana jumped out of the way and scrambled into a nearby stall. When she regained her feet and looked for her mare, she was being covered by the runaway stallion. Assana sighed deeply, this had ultimately been their reason for coming here but this had not been the stallion she had wanted. She worried about what sort of foal would be produced by such an ill tempered horse.

A nose butted her from behind surprising her out of her thoughts. She hadn't realized the stall she had ducked into had been occupied. She looked at the light bay horse and realized he was a stunning Quarter horse. She gave him a quick pat in apology.
As she left his stall she saw a sign on his door stating he was for sale. He seemed friendly and eager to please, and with her prize money she paid for the Quarter Horse called Talon and for Bolt's discounted stud fees.

Assana spent most of the next day training Talon. She needed to get him into the shows and start making money while Cloud Magic was pregnant.
Talon was willing to try anything Assana asked of him. He showed skill and dedication to the cavaletti jump practice. But it wasn't until she tried him on the training track that he started to really enjoy himself. Assana had found herself a racer, and he was fast.

With only one day of training under Talons girth, Assana decided it was time to really test him and enter him in the Twinbrook Derby. It wasn't a major race, just one for beginners. But it still gave prize money and Assana was going to do her best to make sure Talon won it.
After a fast and exhilarating lap around the track it wasn't until she was led to the winners circle that she realised they'd won. Assana was so excited. She knew Talon had been worth every simoleon.

A few days (and races with Talon) later, a filly was born. She was named Plum, and she followed Magic everywhere.
Assana took them both to the training grounds to put Cloud Magic through her paces and make sure she hadn't lost any condition during her pregnancy.
Plum watched from the sidelines and watched her mother soar over the jumps with ease.

Assana also took Talon out for some more training. She focused mainly on his race skills and on making him faster.
A spectator watching them train suggested that Assana should enter him in an advanced race and see how he goes.
She agreed and later that night she took him to the track to race in the Emery Cup. He placed second but still brought in alot of money.

Over the next few days she continued to race Talon and watched as Plum grew.
With the prize money from the races, she revamped her bathroom with the best money could buy. And the best part of it all she even had enough left over to buy a new fridge and stove.

Assana was starting to growing a really nice little herd. Talon and Cloud Magic seemed to get along very well and Talon was even becoming a little protective of the girls.
It wasn't long until Plum finally grew into a mare. Assana was surprised at how her mane and tail had changed in colour, but thought she looked better with it darker. She was a beautiful Dark Bay Pinto mix.

Assana wasted no time in training her. The mare learnt fast and was as eager to please as her mother. She also had the grace and agility of her mother.
When she was taken to the training grounds and taken around the jumping course, she flew without hesitation. Assana knew how much potential she had, she could be an international jumping champ if they worked at her training a little bit more.

The next day saw the grass covered in a crisp layer of ice. Assana spent the morning checking her plants for frost damage and giving the horses a once over with the brush. She discovered that Cloud Magic was pregnant again, the only culprit was Talon. She gave him a pat on the neck and joked with him while she worked on cleaning his hooves out.
Assana took Talon out for a quick ride and training session. There was an advanced race she wanted to enter him into later that day.

Assana was nervous but hopeful that all that training would pay off. She had entered herself and Talon into the Nardone Cup, not a race for the light hearted. There was some tough competition and some very well trained and fast horses, but somehow she and Talon managed to come first.
Before they left to go home, Assana was approached by the owners of one of the mares she had raced against. They wanted to use Talon as a stud and were willing to pay $1,285 simoleons. She readily agreed to the deal and Talon had the deed done quickly, not wasting any time.
Assana was so overjoyed, she'd finally won her first Advanced event that when she got home she took care of Talon quickly, then raced inside to put her trophy on display.

Assana entered Talon in another Advanced race the next day. They came first again. But while in the winners circle one of the other trainers congratulating her offered to buy Talon off her. He said that he had been watching them race over the past week and was very impressed with how they had progressed. He offered her $8,014 and she couldn't refuse such an offer. He promised her that Talon's racing career would continue and that he had a big future interstate in some of the more classy races.
Assana wished Talon well and gave him one last hug before letting him go with a heavy heart.

Before she went home, Assana wandered around the sale yards looking at all the stallions. She hadn't intended on buying one but when she stumbled across a beautiful Appaloosa, Cannon, she had to have him.
When she arrived home with him she found that Cloud Magic had given birth to Talon's foal. Another filly, she was quickly named Autumn Cloud.
